Callaway Kite Flight 2014

Callaway Kite Flight 2014

Callaway, Nebraska

This way  The Callaway Kite Flight is a 24 year old kite festival located in the seven valleys region of central Nebraska. Only about 5 hours from our grandchildren. One of the festivals we have been told not to miss. Held over Labor Day weekend. Why not go? We did in 2014. And we are happy to report it was all that we were expecting. Blue skies, friendly people, lots of sky space, a wonderful weekend. Several of our kites had their maiden voyages here including the Trigon box, which is pictured in the row below, the Kabuki Shield kite, and our 3 new Koi kites. The Koi were made anticipating our Ft. Worden 2015 class. And speaking of Ft. Worden, Bob and I took the Ft. W. Window with us and yes, it did fly. Scott suggested there should be plenty of folks willing to help and he was right. We had forgotten how beautiful it is in the sky and also just how much power it has! It is always impressive to fly or simply watch. And of course, Flat Stanley had to make an appearance, too.  welcome to Callaway
